Plans for future Make a Blanket Sessions

We are now into February as far as making plans for group Make a Blanket Sessions. We have all the available dates filled for January, so we are taking dates for February and beyond. Please remember that we live in the Charlotte area, and it takes us time to schedule volunteers, plot a map to your location, and make arrangements with our families and activities to be able to travel to your location. Help for Hurricane Matthew victims

New County in our Service Area: Iredell

As of July, 2016, our chapter of Project Linus now has a new county in our service area. Discover Mint Hill Project Linus Booth

Celebration of our 20,000th blanket delivery

We have now delivered over 20,000 blankets in the Charlotte, NC, metro area including 5 counties.  We are so proud of the fact that children from birth to 18 in 5 plus counties in our state who are seriously ill, premature, injured, assaulted, or have lost their homes have been given a blanket from our chapter for their comfort and security.  We are planning on celebrating our happy time with a dinner at a restaurant on March 8, 2016.

New Quilt Class and Group

If you want to learn to quilt or just brush up on your skills, please join us during our new quilt group on the first Friday of each month, from10 A.M. to 3 P.M. at the West Stanly Senior Center in Locust, NC. Judy Lynch was instumental in starting the group as she got together a two day class for quilters in May at the Stanly County Ag Center in Albemarle. Hurricane Sandy Relief

We had such a wonderful response to our meeting on November 13, 2012, that we were able to send 92 blankets, so far, to victims of Hurricane Sandy in New York and New Jersey. We sent blankets by mail and by personal courier: my son Scott and his sweet wife Chrissy, whose family lives on Long Island. Successful delivery of 10,000th blanket

Our celebration and delivery of the ten thousandth blanket made and distributed in the Charlotte metro area was on Saturday, September 17, at 3:00 in the afternoon. We met in our previous meeting site, the Fellowship Hall of Candlewyck Baptist Church on Providence Road in the Arboretum area of south Charlotte. It was quite a nice celebration and enjoyable for all attendees.
