As of July, 2016, our chapter of Project Linus now has a new county in our service area. We have adopted Iredell county for reception of our handmade hugs for children in traumatic situations. We have now delivered over 20,000 blankets in the Charlotte, NC, metro area including 5 counties. We are so proud of the fact that children from birth to 18 in 5 plus counties in our state who are seriously ill, premature, injured, assaulted, or have lost their homes have been given a blanket from our chapter for their comfort and security. We are planning on celebrating our happy time with a dinner at a restaurant on March 8, 2016.

We sent blankets by mail and by personal courier: my son Scott and his sweet wife Chrissy, whose family lives on Long Island. They went up to visit her family for Thankgiving, and met with coordinator Mary Reardon. She gave our blankets to a group of vict...Read Full Post »

Our celebration and delivery of the ten thousandth blanket made and distributed in the Charlotte metro area was on Saturday, September 17, at 3:00 in the afternoon. We met in our previous meeting site, the Fellowship Hall of Candlewyck Baptist Church on Providence Road in the Arboretum area of south Charlotte. It was quite a nice celebration and enjoyable for all attendees.
Our recipient was Jacob Goodson who is a young boy with SMA, a very rare, paralyzing disease of the neuromuscu...Read Full Post »
